Karen Bunting is a freelance children's picture book and publications illustrator who lives in Bristol, UK with her partner and two cheeky cats.

She enjoys exploring ways to make her art come to life, using texture, vibrant colours along with thoughtful details for her characters and their surroundings.

Karen has a BA (Hons) in surface pattern and textile design and enjoyed teaching fine art and textiles to secondary school and college students. She also enjoys travelling and has taught and lived abroad in Spain and Japan.

When not drawing, Karen loves to be out in nature either hiking or running. She also likes to rummage around in vintage shops looking for little gems.

Clients include Magination Press, Free Spirit Publishing, Highlights for Children and Mame Editions.
